Nashville's Pale Houses convened in early 2017 with producer/engineer J. Brandon Owens (Mute Math) to record an overdue follow-up to their dynamic 2013 self-titled EP produced by Patrick Damphier (Jessica Lea Mayfield, Mynabirds). With a more honed sound and a newly-tapped lyrical vein, the band and Owens toiled over details, forging a refined but potent collection of emotionally restless pop. With pensive lyrical portraits wrapped in shimmering guitars/synths and sonic nods to artists from The Blue Nile to Bon Iver to American Music Club (and featuring backing vocals from Rosie Thomas of Subpop fame), the EP blends brooding with bombast with a hat tip to 1980's pop. 
 Songs of the Isolation is set for digital release on March 30, 2018 on most streaming platforms via the band's own What A Waste imprint. A limited vinyl edition is available for order from the band's Bandcamp page.
