Hailing from the Home Counties, at a time when the alternative metal and hardcore scene was particularly active in Greater London; Aconite Thrill emerged around the turn of the millennium and toured the UK extensively from 2000 - 2005. Often found supporting international artists such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, Further Seems Forever, Atreyu and Lamb of God - as well as sharing tours with some of the UK’s finest talent at the time, with bands like Biffy Clyro, SikTh, Cry For Silence, Secondsmile, Enter Shikari, Reuben and Incoherence. The band signed to Mighty Atom for their debut EP; 504hrs in late 2003 which was soon followed by the full length album ‘Recliner’ in 2004. Their final EP; Scarlet Wilts was self released in 2005 and available direct from the band at shows on their final tour. The band went on informal hiatus in late 2005, with band members splintering off to explore other musical possibilities. In the brooding, introspective wasteland of the 2020 Covid epidemic, Aconite Thrill found themselves dusting off the archives and having the album Recliner fully remixed and remastered. The Recliner (2020 Bonus Edition) hit the digital shelves in November 2020, featuring the tracks Quiet Words Legacy and 1000 Track Mix Tape, originally from the 2005 Scarlet Wilts EP, as bonus tracks. The band might be working on a new EP. Also, thanks to Rob from DON BROCO for the lockdown shoutout. The remix probably wouldn't have happened without his kind, catalytic words. x
