The depressive black metal project of prolific Finnish-born black metal spellcaster Ville Pystynen, better known by his stage name Shatraug and related projects Horna and Sargeist, Mortualia specializes in atmospheric and relentlessly dread-filled slabs of funereal desperation. Shatraug's first recording under the moniker was 2007's eponymous Mortualia, which enjoyed an extremely limited release before being reissued in 2011.
