The Woodworks are a heavy hitting quartet that's sure to grab your attention and hearts. Combining elements of psychedelic, funk, and heavy rock into their music, they will often bend their sound and shift moods several times in a single song. That along with their DIY approach gives listeners a raw, immersive and inclusive experience. Solo leads the charge with her Allison Mosshart-esque vocals, wailing and playful. This along with her unique guitar playing is something to behold. Steve, named Best Bass Player by Phoenix New Times in 2012, rips his bass lines like a freight train barreling through a tunnel to hell evoking melodic phrases as though he were a lead guitarist. Kyle, the newest addition to the group, adds saxophone and backing vocals into the mix giving the sound a fresh sense of class and rich textures among the heaviness. Stan rounds out this beastly line up as the bands drummer. Pounding away whatever he can in his path, he plays in a way that will shake you to your core. Each player is a standout among many, but put them together and you'll have a show the likes of some of the best live shows from Jack White to Mr. Bungle.
