CLEVELAND METAL "Pinnacle of Suffering," Assault's first new music since the release of their 2022 debut album, spawned from a chat with a friend about the worst was to die. The conversation told of a man exposed to several times the lethal dose of nuclear radiation after a power plant mishap, who was kept alive for eighty-three days in hospice while his body slowly rotted from the inside out. Sparing the gruesome details, this struck metal inspiration for Assault—who deliver the story of this long and excruciating death in the form of a relentlessly riffing two-and-a-half minute track.
