Биография
Sweden’s Eucharist was founded in 1989 by Thomas Einarsson (guitars), Niklas Gustafsson (vocals, bass), and Daniel Erlandsson (drums). In 1990 Markus Johnsson joined the band on guitars and vocals. Niklas was replaced by Tobias Gustafsson. The band released their first demo in 1992 which became a classic in the metal underground. Along with noteworthy bands like At the Gates and Dissection among others, Eucharist pioneered the melodic death metal genre which can be experienced on their two previous full-length albums “A Velvet Creation” from 1993 and “Mirrorworlds” released in 1997. The band released the two compilation tracks “Wounded and Alone” and “The Predictable End” in 1994 and also a track called “The View“ in 1995. In 1997 they released “Mirrorworlds”. In 2016, Markus and Daniel decided they’d make another album. This time in the direction of a more sinister black metal. The album was created but Daniel decided to quit the project before wrapping it up and Markus, who had done more or less all the material himself, including writing all new lyrics, decided to put the album to rest. But in 2020, a deal was made between Regain Records and Markus, and the album, now entitled “I Am The Void” came to be. The single “Shadows” is taken from the upcoming full-length album “I Am the Void” that will be released during spring 2022.
