Биография
Pianist Daria van den Bercken has recorded the fairly unknown harpsichord suites of Handel on the modern piano, reaching a wide international audience for this particular music. It earned her the Amsterdam prize for the Arts. She went on to record the well known sonatas of Mozart. “I changed the way I structure recitals when playing Mozart by researching the universalities of this music, like elegance and playfulness.” Her third album ‘Domenico Scarlatti & Daria van den Bercken’ earned her a Edison nomination. Daria made her debut as a soloist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007 and returned multiple times, as well as receiving a.o. invites to the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Mexico City Philharmonic, North Netherlands Orchestra, Residentie Orchestra, South Netherlands Philharmonic, and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. She has worked with conductors such as Ton Koopman, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Stefan Asbury, Christoph Poppen, Jun Märkl and Shi-Yeon Sung. Next to these alliances and the solo and chamber music recitals she gives in major halls across the world, Daria especially enjoys collaborating with artists in other fields. Because of the new insights that are reached together, she regards this similar to playing chamber music. An international TED Speaker 2014 (Top Ten Talk of 2014), Daria founded the Keys to Music Foundation, with a special focus on conceiving projects for children and college students.
