Биография
Welsh brothers Richard & Adam Johnson were best known for their appearances on the U.K. television series Britain's Got Talent in 2013, where they placed third. The duo managed to effortlessly combine their classically inspired singing voices with a number of popular songs, a mixture that won them fans across the country. Born in the small town of Holywell, the siblings began singing at school, and without any professional training, they went on to find work for their naturally matching tenor and baritone voices on cruise ships and in local hotels. Their friends and family encouraged them to pursue a singing career and they eventually decided to sign up to audition for Britain's Got Talent. They auditioned in Liverpool for the 2013 edition and performed "The Impossible Dream" for the judges in the first round and went on to make the final. Their performance in the final saw them reprise "The Impossible Dream," but they were caught unaware as a protester broke from the supporting choir to throw eggs in the direction of judge Simon Cowell. Undaunted, they completed their rendition but eventually lost in the public vote to runner-up, the 14-year-old comedian Jack Carroll, and to the winners, Hungarian shadow dance troupe Attraction. Following their success they were signed to Sony Music just weeks after the end of the show and soon released their debut album, The Impossible Dream. The record included a mixture of popular songs, such as Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All," alongside classical piece "Ave Maria." It went to number one in the U.K. charts and stayed there for four consecutive weeks, beating out seasoned rivals Justin Timberlake, Travis, and John Mayer in the process. Toward the end of 2013, they announced details of a seasonally themed album entitled The Christmas Album, which was released in time for the holidays. 2014 saw the brothers return with their third album, At the Movies. As the titled suggested, the release featured covers of classics from the world of film, including "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You," "Kiss from a Rose," and "Moon River." After touring the U.K. at the beginning of 2015, the pair returned to the studio to record their fourth album, Believe: Songs of Inspiration. Another collection of covers, this time the release saw the boys taking on a selection of classical standards and rousing Welsh favorites, while the album debuted at number nine on the U.K. albums chart upon its release. ~ Scott Kerr, Rovi
