Биография
MMOTHS is the recording and performing alias of Jack Colleran, an Irish musician who produces shimmering downtempo electronic pop and ambient techno with airy, often wordless falsetto vocals. Born in Newbridge in 1993, Colleran played keyboard and bass as a child, eventually acquiring a laptop and experimenting with Ableton Live while in high school. The very first track he produced, "Blisters," quickly became a hit on music blogs, and Colleran signed to Los Angeles-based label SQE Music in mid-2011, around the time he graduated high school. A few additional tracks appeared online, and his debut EP, including collaborations with Superhumanoids and Keep Shelly in Athens, was issued by the label in March of 2012. Colleran established a performing lineup of MMOTHS and flew to Texas to play at Austin's annual SXSW festival, and by the end of the year, he had toured with the xx and opened for Aphex Twin as well as a reunited At the Drive-In. MMOTHS' second EP, Diaries, followed in March of 2013, containing guest appearances by Holly Miranda and Young & Sick. Following the EP's release, Colleran remixed songs by artists such as Submotion Orchestra and Kyson, but he mostly kept quiet and worked on his debut full-length. Following a move to Los Angeles and the formation of his label OYAE (in association with Because Music), MMOTHS' debut full-length, Luneworks, arrived in March of 2016. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
