Биография

SØLVGUTTENE - “The Silver Boys” - was founded by Torstein Grythe in 1940 and is the Norwegian Broadcasting’s boys choir. The choir is a cultural institution in Norway. Sølvguttene has received a number of national and international awards, and has an extensive and varied national and international concert portfolio. The choir's sound and choral culture is unique. Sølvguttene has become an important part of the Norwegian Christmas tradition with their Christmas concerts. The choir has sung with well-known national and international artists such as Kiri Te Kanawa, Barbara Hendricks, Diana Ross, Andrea Bocelli, a-ha, Arif, Vinni and Sissel Kyrkjebø. The choir has educated national and international artists such as opera singer Terje Stensvold and cellist Truls Mørk. Sølvguttene has worked closely with the Norwegian Opera and Ballet, the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Theatre of Norway and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. The choir performs regularly for the Norwegian Royal Family, and every Christmas Sølvguttene does a Christmas concert in Her Majesty Queen Sonja’s Art Stable. In 2004, Fredrik Otterstad (b. 1975) took over as conductor for Sølvguttene. Fredrik is educated at the University of Oslo and the Norwegian Academy of Music. In 2019, Frikk Heide-Steen (b. 1988) was hired as full-time conductor. Frikk is educated at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Bårdar Academy of Musical Theatre.
