Combining raw and mechanical timbres with gentle electronics, Salvya is the brainchild of producer/keyboardist Shai Yallin and vocalist/lyricist Lilac Harel. “With Impostor Syndrome ”, says Yallin, “we pushed the envelope even further than we did with our debut release. Unrecognizable was deeply connected to our roots in Progressive Rock and Metal, while flirting with the electronics in the vein of acts like Anathema, Paatos and The Gathering - all being major influences on several members of the band. The new EP is less shy about leaving some of these influences behind, as well as bringing in new timbres reflecting new influences such as Tycho and Ott.” “The words come from very personal, possibly dark corners of my heart and mind”, says Lilac, “From the haunting routine of insomnia and thoughts about the daily conflicts and consequences of politics and religion, to the heartache and confusion of abusive relationships and broken trust.
