The first appearance of Dada Ante Portas at the «Zwischenbühne» in the Lucerne suburb of Horw was sold out. Why? Maybe it was the opening program: a clown and a vernissage. Perhaps it was the announcement that the audience was about to see a marvelous «Soirée Dada»? But maybe it was also because the musicians from the band's original line-up had already made a name for themselves in other formations in Lucerne. That being said. The rest is history. The «Zwischenbühne» has changed its name. Other clowns have gone into politics and are at war, Rock'n'roll is dying and Dada Ante Portas wears the backpack of their own history: 27 years of rock'n'roll with a lot of pop appeal. More than 600 shows in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Denmark, France, and China. 9 studio albums and several radio hits such as «I Would Give You My Love» or «400 Rainy Days». Stylistically, Dada Ante Portas has plundered all sorts of gardens. From punk to cuddly pop. It remains a mystery to them as well why the band always sounds like Dada no matter what they do. That the band has steadily improved, is probably due to the fact, that these guys are still hungry. Because somewhere out there, there is always an even better song waiting to be written. And songs, timeless songs, that’s always been a focus of the band. And the stage of course. Live! The band is already looking forward to the upcoming tour in its 27th year. This is going to be a BLAST. Whoever misses this must be cucumber salad.
