Born Mavel de la Rosa in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) and raised in Barcelona (Spain) Mavel D grew up listening to a wide range of music and it is a constant in her life. Mavel D is a preternaturally gifted singer - songwriter. Establishing a confident and charismatic style she is mixing and matching pop, dance, electronic, R & B following her natural gift for melody and for lyricism. The slow tempo beat ‘I’m calling begging for mercy’ is the first song that Mavel D have composed. This track heralded her first artistic and personal approach to songwriting. It was written initially in a Hillsong church songwriting session in Brisbane (Australia), where she lived for around 2-years. She was inspired by religious imagery to elevate a romantic connection with oneself, as a part of a healing process to have mercy for oneself body and soul when we wake up empty as things are out of control. It helps to always have in mind that even though sometimes you feel wracked, and you feel your are not enough you deserve Mercy for your body and soul.
