merrymount! were formed in a late spring afternoon by Alessandro Fagioli and Andrea Lucchi, two regular guys living in the outskirts of Cesena, Italy. By the summer they decided that a former fellow musician, Pier Nicola Currà who was back then living and working in London, was the missing piece they needed to build up their sound, so they spent all the energy they could to convince him to join the band. The trio immediately worked on their first seven tracks EP, “Later, in the morning”, recorded in the late months of the same year. In early 2014 the band went to the recording studio to record the second EP named “Frightened Little Choir”, a five tracks album that contained a more elaborated sound and was calling for a more persistent rythmic section. In fact the idea of a drummer was in the air, and it was only after an extensive research that the band found the fourth member in Daniele BigDan Traschitti, the drummer/composer who joined the band in the summer of 2014. It took several months to include the more groovy style of the new member into the folk sound of the rest of the band, but all eventually merged in the first proper LP of the band, recorded in late 2017 and published in early 2018: Heart of Universe.
