Биография

“Let it burn, it’s the ashes that I admire.” A taunt from the title track of The Honeyrunners debut album, "Everything Is On Fire". The band’s LP was a pandemic soul-searcher, aimed at disrobing our culture of apathy – a sentiment that everything is on fire, with nothing to do but watch. The music is a reminder of the necessity of your presence, and your involvement in the little things. “We write songs for the times we need them.” singer Dan Dwoskin spells out over coffee, with a nervous laugh, "We could use some good ones right about now." The Honeyrunners are a Northern take on Southern Soul – hot-blooded and rife with the poetry of heartache. The four-piece Toronto group (toting eleven members for larger shows) is fronted by Ottawa-born songwriter Dan Dwoskin (keys, vocals) and Canadian-Peruvian audio-engineer/producer, Guillermo Subauste (bass, vocals). Newer additions to the lineup include the soulful Conor Gains (guitar, vocals) and Daniel Leigh McLean (drums, vocals). The band delivers a big show, laced with elements of folk, blues and indie rock. Their music suits fans of bands like Arkells, Nathaniel Rateliff, Humble Pie, and Alabama Shakes. The Honeyrunners have had the pleasure of sharing stages with many friends and mentors: The Sadies, Jim Cuddy, The Trews, Philip Sayce, Nick Waterhouse, King Khan, U.S.S., The Beaches, Skye Wallace, and so many more.
