this bio is from our Wikipedia or Rovi or something, which is pretty inaccurate. we fixed it for you. love, the oohlas ---- Featuring ex-Everclear drummer Greg Eklund on guitar, the Oohlas are fronted by vocalist/guitarist Ollie Stone and Eklund's brother Mark on bass. The trio (they've had no permanent drummer) formed in 2004 after Stone relocated to Los Angeles from Phoenix and met Mark, who was working for Stone's uncle's girlfriend. Mark introduced her to Greg, who had recently left Everclear. Wasting little time, they wrote in Greg's studio and practiced at Cole's rehearsal by the hour, and soon were playing fucking everywhere in LA. Within a year, a handmade EP released on CD-R was issued on Stolen Transmission Records, a subsidiary of Island, in February of 2006. In September the Oohlas released the full album Best Stop Pop. Shortly after they started demoing their Island debut, Napster and mp3s broke the music industry and it spiraled into a shitstorm that felt damn near endless. Island dismantled. The Chinchilla EP are the songs from those sessions. Currenly residing in other states but still together; the band wishes to make another album, but that shit is expensive.
