Hailing from Boorloo (Perth, WA), Gloam is a dynamic four-piece shoegaze band that has evolved from their earlier incarnation as ‘Russets.’ Embracing a fresh wave of creativity, the band’s sound is inspired by iconic shoegaze acts such as Deftones, Diiv, Deafheaven, Nothing, Slowdive and Whirr. With their unique blend of ethereal soundscapes and mighty walls of sound, Gloam takes listeners on an immersive, genre-defying journey. Appealing to a diverse range of fans, Gloam’s genre-bending style resonates with followers of alternative, indie, hardcore, and metal music scenes. In their relatively brief time on the live circuit, the band has already made a splash, sharing the stage with international bands Movements (USA) and Boston Manor (UK) and some of Perth’s heavyweights like Daybreak, Idle Eyes, No Brainer, Pinwheel, and Vacant Home. In July 2022, Gloam unveiled their debut single ‘Merchant’ from their self-titled EP, ‘Gloam,’ giving fans a tantalizing taste of what’s to come. The highly anticipated EP was released in December 2022, receiving a warm reception from fans and online communities.
