Биография
Based in São Paulo and formed in 2017, Tagua Tagua is lead by songwriter and producer Felipe Puperi. Felipe, having fronted space groove rock band Wannabe Jalva for several years, has an extensive indie resume. Having played at Lollapalooza Brazil, supported shows for Pearl Jam and Jack White. He’s also been featured on KCRW, NY Times, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan and WFUV. Felipe's own project, Tagua Tagua, makes a name for himself as one of the most promising acts in Brazilian music and after years of praise in at home, he’s begun to garner attention overseas with features on NPR, Remezcla, the FIFA 20 soundtrack along with support slots for The Growlers. After releasing two EPs, “Tombamento Inevitável” (2017) and “Pedaço Vivo” (2018), Tagua Tagua released his first LP “Inteiro Metade” (2020). The album intertwines tropical psychedelia, the principles of ye ye ye and the influence of funk and soul all while being dominated by supple melodies and dreamlike timbres. All songs are written and recorded by Felipe himself, and mixed by fellow Wannabe Jalva Tiago Abrahão and mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Chet Faker). Recently, Tagua Tagua has toured throughout Europe and the United States, playing SXSW on their last trip. His second album ‘TANTO’ is planned for release March 3, 2023.
