Hailing from Seattle, Thavoron continues to take the scene by a storm by writing, singing and producing his own music. He found himself encapsulated by the world of indie/alternative music- leading up to form his sound surrounding and residing within The xx, Daughter, HAIM, Blood Orange, FKA twigs, The Smiths, Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver & Lana Del Rey. Born in 2000 in Everett, Washington to Cambodian immigrant parents, Thavoron spent his young years singing in his school choirs, and taught himself how to play the bass and the guitar. Thavoron originally started his artist project in 2018 under the moniker Sokeang (the combination of his mother’s and father’s last names). He then released his debut EP 'Bold' under his first name Thavoron in 2020 and ended up dropping out of the University of Washington during late 2021 to fully pursue his music career. Thavoron's artist project started gaining momentum after the release of his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Ugly', having been featured on Before the Data, Rice & Spice Magazine, and Buzz Music LA. This caught the eye of Trailing Twelve Records, who Thavoron would eventually sign to in 2021. With praise from METAL Magazine, Ones To Watch, and Stem, Thavoron shows no sign of stopping anytime soon to create liberation and space for his, and others' intersectional identities to shine through and exist on their own accord through art.
