Howdy folks! I’ve been singing country, gospel and bluegrass music as early in my existence as I can remember! Got my first guitar when I was 7 and haven’t looked back or slacked up since. I was born and raised in West Virginia, but I’ve spent most of my life (except for a 10-year stint in Colorado) in the Midwest, particularly the Kansas City area. I studied for the ministry in undergraduate and graduate school and served in various ministry positions for more than 30 years. I “retired” early in 2015 and embarked on a full-time career in music. I currently am the guitarist and lead singer in the long-established bluegrass band, The Special Consensus. I also have a side project with local friends called Greg Blake and Hometown. I was recently overwhelmed with the honor of being nominated by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) for the Male Vocalist of the Year award. I have two children, and one grandson. I recently lost my wife of almost 40 years to a sudden illness. My music keeps me busy. I love singing and playing for appreciative crowds and traveling all over the world.
