Wandile Mbambeni is a singer-songwriter hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa, known for his unique blend of Soul, African folk, folk-country, and Indie. With a powerful, unique voice and a passion for storytelling, he has become a rising star in the local and international music scene. Drawing inspiration from artists like Oliver Mtukudzi, John Mayer, Hugh Masekela, and Brenda Fassie, Wandile Mbambeni explores themes of love, loss, nostalgia, and self-discovery in his music. His soulful lyrics and captivating melodies have resonated with audiences of all ages. Over the past few years, Wandile Mbambeni has played at some of the continent’s most prestigious venues and events, including Rocking The Daisies and Lake of Stars in Malawi. He joined 6x Grammy-nominated artist Tamia on her national tour of South Africa, playing venues such as The Sun Arena (PTA) and Greenpoint Stadium (CPT). In 2018, he released his debut album, Kwakumnandi, which earned critical acclaim and radio airplay across the region, including a number-one single, 'Wanted and Loved,' featuring Shekhinah on Jacaranda FM. His live performance of the album’s Track 11, 'Tell Me,' was named Balcony TV Worldwide’s 'Video of the Day,' as well as Balcony TV New York’s 'Pick of the Week.' In 2023, he was one of the artists featured on the AppleTV+ docuseries 'My Kind of Country,' based in Nashville, USA.
