Биография
A devotee of classic country who isn't quite beholden to tradition, Moot Davis injects his Americana with a flinty modern sensibility and a hint of rock & roll. His blend of the past and the present made him a favorite of film and television producers, earning him placement in the Academy Award-winning 2004 film Crash, the 2006 horror remake The Hills Have Eyes, and a 2010 episode of Supernatural, but his steady stream of albums -- beginning in 2004 and stretching into the 2010s -- is what built him a cult following. Originally from Trenton, New Jersey, Davis started performing professionally at the dawn of the 2000s. He originally headed to New York but wound up in Nashville in 2001. A year after his move, he headed out to Los Angeles to record an album with Pete Anderson. Davis' eponymous first album came out on Anderson's Little Dog Records in 2004. That same year, he received a break when his "Whiskey Town" appeared in Paul Haggis' Oscar-winning Crash. Davis released his second album -- the Nashville-recorded Already Moved On -- in 2007. In 2012, he switched to his self-owned imprint Highway Kind for Man About Town. Davis signed to Burnside for 2014's Goin' in Hot. His fifth album, Hierarchy of Crows, arrived in 2017. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
