Биография
Musician and composer who plays traditional Mediterranean instruments (bouzouki, oud, saz, mandola), guitars, piano, percussion. He is the founder and band leader of the Banda Ikona (and previously of the Novalia). He released five Cds with Banda Ikona: “Mediterraneo ostinato” (2021), Soundcity" (2016), “Folkpolitik” (2012), "Marea cu sarea" (2008) and “Stari Most” (2005) written in Sabir, an old language of the Mediterranean sea. He is also the musical director of 7 Sóis Orkestra, Les Voix du 7 Sóis, Med Arab Jewish 7 Sois Orkestra, three orchestras that bring together musicians from different countries. With the musician and producer Hector Zazou and the singer Barbara Eramo he released on 2010 the CD “Oriental Night Fever”, a re-interpretation of various Disco ‘classics’ from the seventies. He is also the founder of the Cafè Loti (with Nando Citarella and Pejman Tadayon) and Caracas (with Valerio Corzani). He has played in the most important World music Festivals worldwide. He also played with many international musicians like Alexander Balanescu, Eyal Sela, Jamal Ouassini, Margarida Guerreiro. As a composer he has also worked on film soundtracks, dance, theatre, poetry and television. For the theatre he has worked with Giancarlo Giannini, Predrag Matvejevic, Massimo Popolizio, Monchef Ghachem, Pamela Villoresi, Omero Antonutti and many others. He composed a suite in five movements based on "Le bateau Ivre" by Arthur Rimbaud, read by Jean-Louis Trintignant.
