Биография

Born out of basement rehearsals and loud house shows, Leeds four-piece Fuzz Lightyear have built a reputation for riotous live sets and an ever-evolving sound. Pulling from grunge, post-punk, and sludgy noise-rock, the band, initially a three-piece, self-released their first single and EP before working with Alex Greaves (bdrmm, Bored at My Grandmas House, Working Men’s Club) on ‘Berlin 1885’, a song denouncing xenophobia. Taking inspiration from Show Me The Body, Sonic Youth and The Murder Capital, Fuzz Lightyear emerges from the chaos of the Leeds punk scene bringing with them a torrent of noise-grunge. The band have already built up a loyal fanbase, selling out all of their headline shows and a run of self-made and self-released cassette tapes, alongside playing with bands such as Crows and KEG, plus a house show with English Teacher. Their efforts have also earned them airplay from BBC Introducing West Yorkshire and Wales, Amazing Radio, and Boogaloo Radio. Having transitioned to a four-piece, the quartet released their first track on Come Play With Me, ‘Carlton Hill’ early this year, a song which captures “that youthful feeling of being able to live for that never-ending conscious present, with no worry for the morning or the days or weeks that come afterwards.” The track was also accompanied by a music video directed and shot on camcorders by frequent collaborator Ewan Barr (Fehlt, Drahla, Van Houten).
