toast is the multifaceted music project from Florida native Marcus Hidalgo. What initially started as a side project for instrumentals and study beats in 2019 soon matured into the enthusiastic artist he portrays today. Driven by pure nostalgia and enamoring for art (such as films, paintings, and photography) Marcus began utilizing this inspiration and love to better vocalize the fragility of real life hardships using youthful and light-hearted sounds. More notably in his early work with songs such as don't tlk, tlking about you, and i've been calling. After an extent of continuous singles, the songwriter/producer released his debut album titled marcus, why's your name toast? in early 2022. This was the end of a major chapter for toast, and the beginning of an even bigger one. Marcus is in constant yearn for love, art, and meaning; all becoming integral to his artistry and is continuing to push himself to keep writing the songs to the soundtrack of his life, all to find what it sounds like to grow up.
