Borrowing from the philosophy of their literal fore-bearers, Los Juanos are carving a new path for what it means to be Tejano. Members Baldemar Esquivel (Baldemar) , Miguel “Werito” Guzman, Richard “Nebyula” Ramírez, Eddy “Saint Wine” Longoria, Mel Sanchez & Frank Tovar understand the immense task of revering Tejano heritage while also adapting to an ever changing music landscape. What started as the incorporation of their native musics of Conjunto, Corrido & Cumbia Norteña into nebulous, home-brewed Dream Pop recordings, later flourished into a truly unrivaled sound. And why not? Their predecessors were found a-tuning their keyboards to the sounds of radio Synth Pop over traditional Polka rhythms. Today, Los Juanos spearhead this ideology with hazy, innovative and psychedelic leanings in their compositions and the embrace of modern production methods, particularly the rawness found in bedroom recordings.
