Freckleface is the alter ego of 21-year-old multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer, songwriter & mixing engineer Daniel Aitto-oja. Freckleface creates his own brand of indie music, drawing influence from a variety of genres ranging from dream pop, R&B, neo-psychedelia, bedroom pop, neo-soul, hip hop and even electronic music. All of Freckleface's explosive drum beats, dreamy synths, fuzzy guitars, glitchy effects and endless vocal harmonies have been written, produced, recorded and mixed in his bedroom studio by the artist himself. Despite his artist name Freckleface doesn't have all that many freckles. After over a year in the making, Freckleface has released his debut album Summer Break on which he covers a wide variety of topics ranging from time, youth, love (and lack thereof), faith, identity, mental illness and death. Creating juxtapositions between thought provoking lyrics and easy to digest instrumentals, Summer Break manages to be refreshingly varied in sound, yet cohesive as an album.
