    Armed with a shambly, reverb kissed sound that nodded to acts like Orange Juice, The Field Mice, and The Pastels Oxnard, California’s Sea Lions got their start in 2007 as Adrian Alatorre Pillado’s solo project. Pillado spent the next few years writing and recording a handful of demos. The first official release was a 7” on the now defunct label Yay! Records out of Oxnard in 2009 titled “Let’s Groove”. The band played sporadic shows and house parties and Pillado would often release new songs via SoundCloud and Facebook. In 2011 the band together with Slumberland Records released their debut full length titled “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sea Lions But Were Afraid To Ask”. The band has toured Japan as well as the UK and US and after a break are back with a new album. The band hopes to have the album out within the near future.
