Биография
Luzmila Carpio is one of the indigenous songwriters with the greatest global reach. Born in the highlands of Bolivia, Luzmila's musical expressions are intimately intertwined with her profound spiritual journey, making her a unique and influential presence in the realm of indigenous spirituality. At the heart of Luzmila Carpio's compositions is her deep connection to the ancient traditions of the Quechua and Aymara peoples, who have inhabited the Andean region for centuries. Luzmila's music acts as a vessel to convey the profound wisdom and spirituality of her ancestors, preserving her knowledge and promoting a spiritual awakening among her indigenous compatriots and the global community at large. Often considered as the "voice of the Andes”, Luzmila walks artistic paths that transcend borders and lead her to constantly reinvent the genre of "Andean song" through a fine and arduous work of cultural decolonization and musical opening, to bring Andean music to the universal, without losing its identity. Her musical influence reaches several generations of artists throughout the Latin American continent. The famous Rolling Stone magazine (10 Best Latin Albums of the Year - 2015) describes Luzmila as the most famous indigenous singer on the Latin American continent today. But Luzmila is not just a musician but a spiritual guide who offers us deep insight into the transformative power of indigenous spirituality and its potential to heal, unite and inspire.
