“the switch” are a alternative band formed in Derry City, and stemmed from Derrys rich, cultural music scene which has produced bands such as “The Undertones”. The four piece owe a debt to the sounds of the Manchester scene in the late 80's and early 90's. Reinventing the modern sound, “the switch” have taken inspirations from bands like “Oasis”, “Inhaler”, “The Stone Roses”, “U2”, “Pink Floyd” and paired it with punky rhythm guitar riffs from Dualta McCafferty (Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocalist) and psychedelic lead lines from Conor Leach (Lead Guitar) in order to fabricate their own sound. Playing a stream of gigs post- lockdown, The Switch have made a name for themselves in the northwest of Ireland for their blistering live performances, with Aedan (Aedo) O’Doherty (Drums) capturing the attention of the masses with his fast paced drum grooves and Odhran Harkin (Lead Vocalist and Bass) punching out chest pumping bass lines, have kicked off their journey in the modern music scene with a bang.
