Mr. Softheart is an Iowa post-punk three-piece that favors minimalism and intimacy over more conventional iterations of the genre. Their sound has been compared to Viagra Boys, Suicide, Nick Cave, The Cramps, The Fall, and LCD Soundsystem. Their live show has been called "intense, brooding, and at times, convincingly unhinged,” with a setlist of “moody meditations that demand dancing.” Mr. Softheart played both Treefort 2023 in Boise and Mission Creek Festival 2023 in Iowa City, as well as Max Ames Fest, Cedar Valley Pride, and Des Moines' 80/35 Music Fest in 2022. In addition to a full summer tour and a few more festival dates (to be announced), they will release their debut LP in August 2023. Won't Be Long, the first single from the band’s forthcoming album, was released on March 3, 2023.
