Биография
Forty Feet Tall is one of Portland’s most exciting up and coming acts and they have absolutely earned it. Now PNW mainstays, you can catch them blasting their unique Post-Punk music at Portland’s finest concert establishments like The Doug Fir, Mississippi Studios, Lollipop Shoppe, or even stomping around the stage of Revolution Hall in the near future, supporting London’s heavy hitters, Shame. The band’s newest material, recorded with Portland polymath Cameron Spies (The Shivas, Blackwater Holylight, Spoon Benders), eclipses their previous accomplishments. Songs like “BOIL” and “Nic Cage” abound with concepts, yet stay sharply focused, a la Talking Heads, Pixies or more contemporary names like Parquet Courts and IDLES. Under The Radar discusses their latest release, saying “...the band takes on a more layered sheen than their last EP, BOIL, all while offering plenty of sharp hooks and grooves along the way." But the biggest buzz around Forty Feet Tall is their live show. On the road consistently, you’ll see the band opening up for acts like Guerilla Toss or The Shivas, storming the stages at SXSW, Treefort and Seattle’s Freakout Fest. These gigs routinely climax with incendiary showstoppers that find Cole tangled up in mic cords or diving into the crowd. But their outrage is anchored in hope, and a drive to do better. Their memorable music may sound loud and confrontational, but the community they’ve built around it resonates with positivity.
