The Viles are an alternative rock two-piece based in NorCal/Sacramento, CA. The band is comprised of Maddi Gruber (Madd) on guitar and vocals and Justin Almazan on drums. The Viles sound has elements of punk rock and alternative rock with pop melodies lead out with melodic drums and a fuzzing guitar. Collectively, their influences include Pixies, Sleater-Kinney, The Smashing Pumpkins, The White Stripes, and The Cure. The two met at Los Angeles College of Music in Pasadena, CA when Justin responded to a flyer posted around the school seeking a female-drummer for a punk band. "Clearly I'm not a female", he sent to Maddi over text, "but if you ever want to jam sometime let me know". Justin joined Madd, which at the time was a full band including HARUHI on bass and Gabe Galang on lead guitar. Eventually, the band split ways and Justin and Maddi decided to start The Viles. Fans can expect a full-length release in 2020, along with a tour across the United States.
