Биография
Connecticut's The Guru was formed in 2009 when original members Eddie Golden III (vocals and drums), Kyle McEvoy (guitar) and Colin Sullivan (guitar) were still in the early days of high school together. Frustrated with the lack of under-21 venues in Connecticut at the time, they took matters into their own hands by organizing and promoting shows in the back of a rundown coffee shop in Watertown, CT called Cafe Napoli. The Guru continued to perform locally and regionally as well as release two separate EP's in 2011 and 2012 (Native Sun and Go Easy), all while the members were still in school. After a short run, supporting Canadian singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco in 2013, The Guru would meet Boston-based multi-instrumentalist and engineer Adam Straus through mutual friends. Eventually Straus would join The Guru on bass and help engineer and mix their first and final album, Pretty Things in 2014. After countless local and regional shows supporting bands such as The Growlers, The Front Bottoms and Darwin Deez, The Guru announced their breakup after a final two-month long, national farewell tour in late 2014.
