Биография
David Harrow was previously a London musician best known for his work with the On-U-Sound team on material by Gary Clail, Lee Perry, Bim Sherman and, under his own auspices, for Psychic TV and Jah Wobble’s Invaders Of The Heart. As Pulse 8 (not the record label) he also issued ‘Radio Morocco’, the first ever single on Nation Records in October 1989. His first UK release as Technova was ‘Tantra’, a 25-minute trance /ambient affair with a strong reggae undertow, released on the Sabres Of Paradise imprint. He had impressed the latter’s Andrew Weatherall with an appearance at the Sabres Christmas party, accompanied by naked (except for luminous paint) tattooed and pierced dancers. The single was actually taken from an album released in Australia on the Shock label in 1993, though Weatherfield subsequently re-released it on his Audio Emissions imprint. The project made plentiful use of DAT-recorded environmental sounds picked up on Harrow’s own journey through Australasia. Several more singles and the Transcience album followed, all released on Audio Emissions. In 1995 Harrow and Weatherall collaborated under the Bloodsugar pseudonym, releasing the Levels EP. Harrow has recorded under several monikers including the Charismatics and James Hardway, the latter a bizarre hybrid of experimental jazz and jungle. In addition to production and mixing duties he enjoyed an international hit as the composer of Billie Ray Martin’s ‘Your Loving Arms’.
