Биография
Josh Joplin, is not given to reminiscing much about the glory days of chasing a song around the world. In his case, Camera One, as it notched up the charts making it the first independently released song to land #1 at Triple A Top 40 on legendary showbiz titan's, Daniel Glass and Danny Goldberg, storied label, Artemis Records, (J. Mascis, Steve Earle, The Pretenders, Kittie, AND infamous hit makers, The BaHa Men)... Though Josh never quite “let thedogs out” with his only hit, it is featured on the cult classic, Scrubs. He followed it up in 2002 with The Future That Was produced by Rob Gal (Magnapop, Rock-a-Teens) and later the critically praised, Jaywalker. In 2009, Joplin was signed to Verve Records and continues music with his musical collective, Among The Oak & Ash. In Spring of 2023 they are set to release their 3rd album, Figure Drawing. Joining him this time are Fats Kaplin (Jack White’s string wizard), Bryan Owings (Emmylou Harris’s drummer), Allen Broyles (keyboardist for Josh Joplin Group) and Wes Langlois (the guitarist who co-wrote two songs with Joplin). Vogue Magazine praised their songs as a "lush reimagining of Appalachian folk music” while TimeOut London called their high energy live shows “…a must see!” They’ve performed on NPR’s Mountain Stage, and World Café. Joplin's song "Blue Skies Again" covered by Jessica Lea Mayfield and according to Pitchfork’s review, it’s “…a sunny reassuring song with a simple infectious chorus makes it a standout…”
