“A musical cocktail”. That’s what the 19-year-old Dutch DJ, producer and instrumentalist, Mats Alexander de Boer, describes his music as; influenced by genres spanning from tropical house to indie pop. When creating as Alex Bell, he accentuates the Mediterranean influences in his music, such as his signature acoustic instruments; the bongo, percussion, and acoustic guitar, which are balanced with contemporary electronic features. The alias “Alex Bell” originates from his former artist name; dB., which was a play on his last name initials and the unit of sound. “Alex Bell” draws this together with his middle name; Alexander, and the inventor of the dB.; Alexander Graham Bell. His story starts at an early age of 11 when he first started performing at events in Frankfurt, which then sparked his interest in music production. Having received support from award-winning artists such as San Holo, sharing stages with djs as El Mukuka and worked with renowned artists, such as Cappa and Michel Dj, guided him to play at renowned clubs and festivals.
