Биография
Yes Yes No Maybe (AKA “YYNM”), is the debut project of alternative-pop duo Geoff Duncan and Luke O’Dea. When asked what they think of their own music, the duo said their music is “what you would expect at a ‘kick-ass’ block party.” Composed with lines and lines of synth-bass and peppered with shakers and other festive percussive elements, their beats are energetic and adrenaline-fueled. Their megaphone-like vocals are warped and distant, yet combine well with their uptempo beats culminating in the perfect “raging party” vibe. The two grew up as friends in Australia and music has always been a constant from a very early age. Geoff’s parents were both professional folk musicians, while Luke’s father was an accomplished classical pianist. Similarly, both enjoy a range of diverse music and share a true penchant for contemporary pop music. Their inspirations range from the likes of Zedd to Post Malone to Chance the Rapper. When asked about their approaches to writing music, both asserted that melody is key in driving the listener experience. According to Geoff, there is nothing like hearing a “strong melody” and using that melody to incite feeling within a listener makes a song memorable. It’s quite clear that YYNM are quickly becoming masters of melody and use tone sequencing in unique ways, giving this exciting new project from Position Music a delicious sound palette to continue to explore and build from.
