Two longtime friends, Simon Perrotte and Guillaume Fecteau share a love of modern electronic music and romantic old school jams à la Phil Collins. Together, they form HWYS, an electro pop duo hooked on analog synths and catchy melodies. Beaches, their first EP, produced by Steeven Chouinard from Le Couleur, arrives just in time for the summer. Featuring nostalgic, crystal-clear hymns, the album is an ode to women, midnight adventures and colorful loves. One question remains though, what’s the meaningful story behind their name’s acronym. You’ll have to buy the guys a drink if you want to find out. After accumulating hundreds of thousands of plays on Spotify, Beaches is mentioned on several major blogs. The EP finishes the year by appearing among Canadian Music Blog’s top albums of the year.
