With an iconoclastic tone, Her Brothers, made up of Gabe, Josh and Levi, raise fists with the underdog emboldening fans to a reclamation of agency, identity and space. Together since 2006, the band’s current iteration came about in 2015. Since then the band has partnered with charities such as the East End Boys Club based out of Vancouver BC that works with marginalized youth between the ages of 13-25 providing post secondary guidance, opportunities in education and trades skills training as well as socio-emotional support and mentorship. The band’s polemic lyrics along with its DIY sound harkens to their early punk roots infused with hip hop and everything alternative. This new era sees the band’s disruptive efforts as a musical affront to the establishment, current political system and lack in education of the history that has made Canada, along with many other countries, what it is today.
