Биография
The music of Brooklyn-based Violet Sands is an ethereal soundtrack for a rite of passage, harnessing the alluring vocals of Deidre Muro (Deidre & the Dark, previously Savoir Adore), the inventive production of David Perlick-Molinari (French Horn Rebellion) and the atmospheric guitar-scapes of Derek Muro (Love Like Deloreans) to evoke the beauty and struggles of transitioning from one phase of life to another. Their genre-bending music is a fresh and dreamy mix of nostalgia with the present. After quietly uploading “No Matter What” and “Lift Me Up” to Soundcloud, Violet Sands organically began to gain a following. The likes of PressPlay and HillyDilly noted their modern genre blending of early influences such as Cocteau Twins, Peter Gabriel and The Cure with glitch pop, 90s R&B, shoegaze and trap, resulting in a sound “incomparable to anything out.” The trio released their first two tracks as part of the Strange Attractor EP. The song “No Matter What” continued to gain traction - featured in a commercial for Spotify’s Party App, included on a Vinyl Moon limited edition compilation, & it’s surreal music video selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick & a 2017 Webby Awards Official Honoree (Music Video Category). In 2017, Violet Sands returned with the release of “Hello, I’m Free” (the soundtrack to Spotify’s announcement of its Discover Weekly feature) followed by the release of their debut album “Hotel,” and the single "Gone" in 2018.
