aux animaux is a hauntwave artist from Stockholm, Sweden, who released her first songs in 2017. aux animaux was born and raised in Istanbul. She is a self-taught musician that worked as a professional bass guitarist for several years up until moving to Sweden in 2008. With aux animaux, on stage she sings as well as alternating between theremin and bass guitar. The theremin, which she considers to be her witchcraft, is the only instrument that is played without actually touching. aux animaux’s music draws inspiration from the 80s, blending sampled electronic drums with analog synths along with haunting vocals. The band names other influences as Portishead, Goldfrapp, Massive Attack, John Carpenter , Geoff Barrow as well as original soundtracks such as Drive (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), It Follows (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), and Stranger Things. Other influences include She Past Away , Kælan Mikla , The Soft Moon , Anna von Hausswolff , Chelsea Wolfe , etc.
