Биография
Launching shortly after key U.K. platforms SB.TV and Link Up TV, GRM Daily (known originally as Grime Daily) quickly became one of the U.K.'s most influential music platforms, providing a one-stop content site for the nation's burbling grime scene. After becoming the largest media outlet platform in the U.K., GRM Daily started to create original music in 2019, curating songs from some of their key collaborators on their debut compilation Let's Work, Vol. 1. Founded in 2009 by Matt Thorne, Koby Hagan, and Pierre Godson-Amamoo, Grime Daily provided one of the first major content outlets for the U.K.'s storied grime scene, compiling mixtapes, interviews, and archival footage of the genre's origins under a single banner. As the platform began to incorporate more of the U.K.'s urban music scenes, it relaunched under the name GRM Daily (Grime and Rap Music Daily), rebranding in 2012 to reflect its growing presence as a musical hub, which boosted the careers of essential U.K. artists (Tinchy Stryder, Wretch 32) throughout the 2010s, and started its iconic freestyle series Daily Duppy, which served to highlight the talents of upcoming U.K. rappers like Sneakbo. As the U.K.'s rap scene grew and mutated, the platform continued to develop, championing rising stars like Ramz, Dave, Fredo, Russ, and D-Block Europe (and styles from Afro-swing to drill) toward the latter half of the decade. Having already compiled its Daily Duppy and Hardest Out freestyle series on streaming platforms, GRM Daily set out to create original tracks in-house in 2019, tapping the talents of frequent collaborators like AJ Tracey, Hardy Caprio, Not3s, Fredo, and Wretch 32. The platform self-released its debut tape, Let's Work, Vol. 1, in July 2019. ~ David Crone, Rovi
