    Over the past fifty years, Cappella Amsterdam has built and maintained its reputation as one of the outstanding Dutch chamber choirs. Resonating as one instrument, the choir captivates and astounds, earning consistently high praise in the form of awards and reviews for its productions. Of particular note are its interest in vocal repentance psalms- those of Lassus, Schnittke and Pärt. In '17, the choir won the Edison Klassiek prize for their recording of Arvo Pärt’s Kanon Pokajanen, and its lauded performances of this work are much in demand. During a tour of the Netherlands in Spring '23, Cappella Amsterdam will release a CD of Alfred Schnittke’s mighty Psalms of Repentance. Committed to performing the gamut of choral music in its many dimensions, Cappella Amsterdam brings its dedication and unique sound to repertoire spanning the early Middle Ages to the present day. In '21 it was awarded another Edison prize for their CD In Umbra Mortis, which features works by Giaches de Wert (1535-1596) and Wolfgang Rihm (*1952). A CD of David Lang’s the writings was released the year after, to wide critical acclaim. Often venturing beyond the Western canon, the choir is further fortunate to work with such artists as Sami Yusuf, Amira Medunjanin, Rima Khcheich and Martha Galarraga. Forward-looking collaborations have long been important to Cappella Amsterdam, and it is proud to count the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Nieuw Vocaal Amsterdam and Leonard Evers amongst its partners.
