Gypsyfingers is an ethereal folk-rock & pop band founded by songwriter Victoria Coghlan & producer Luke Oldfield (son of Mike Oldfield). Victoria's classical training and love of dance music fuses with Luke's folk, rock and pop background to create a fresh sound of their own lauded by R2 Magazine as "trip-hop and folk-influenced ethereal pop that delightfully doesn't fit into any existing musical pigeonhole". Their debut album Circus Life was praised for being “a record with a freewheeling spirit, full of gentle persuasion and wonder” (God is in the TV). Their second album Stranger Things sees the ethereal folk-rock duo’s sound blossom as they transition from duo to band after three years of touring in the UK and Europe including supports for Van Morisson, Michael Bublé & James Blunt. Victoria and Luke are joined in the studio by touring band members Patrick Kenneally (ex Circulus) on drums and keys, Tali Trow (Gemma Hayes) and Simon Hedges (Airbus) both on bass and also by Rachel Lanskey (The Last Dinosaur) on viola. Stranger Things was recorded at Tilehouse Studios and produced by Luke Oldfield with a mixture of analogue tape and digital formats. The album picks up where their debut Circus Life left off as Gypsyfingers continue to fuse genres together blending folk-rock, 70’s pop, americana and prog, exploring sonic textures and cinematic soundscapes along the way.
