Биография
AQVOL (real name, Justin Marshall) is a singer, songwriter and producer hailing from Broward County, Florida. AQVOL fuses candid hip-hop, meditative R&B, and timeless indie rock influences to create thoughtful, introspective narratives with uncanny, melodic infectiousness. Reared in Salisbury, North Carolina, AQVOL discovered an interest in music production after relocating to Florida at the age of 12. While growing up on Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush and Hank Williams, Jr., AQVOL became inspired by singers ranging from OVO’s PARTYNEXTDOOR to the late, soul legend Aretha Franklin. After traveling to and from London working with Nyquill, the producer behind AQVOL’s 2016 underground breakout single, “Count,” one early 2017 night in Miami Beach, AQVOL was pulled over by the police. Unfortunately, narcotics were found in the car and AQVOL was immediately arrested, sentenced to one year of probation and told he was unable to leave the state of Florida until December 18, 2018. The unfortunate stipulation led to AQVOL continuing his work as a line cook to pay his legal and court fees, while writing, producing and mastering his craft during any spare moment he had. The minute AQVOL's probation ended he bought a ticket for a life-changing flight to Los Angeles. Since then, the passionate 21-year-old has been recording between Broward County, New York and Portland to complete his official debut EP releases and eventual album, slated for a 2020 release date.
