Sound Barrier...The first all black hard rock band signed to a major label, (MCA/Universal). The band was formed by Bernie K. (vocals) , and Spacey T. (Guitar), after they met in quasi funk rock band by the name of "Colour"! They went on to add drummer Dave Brown and bassist Stanley Davis. "Total Control" was the band's freshman release, which gained word wide critical acclaim. They were the first all black metal band featured on MTV with the video and song "Rock without the Roll"! But the band , which was signed by veteran music man, Leon Tsillis, never received the marketing dollars that their counterparts garnered, mostly due to the change in regime which left the band in no man's land. Nevertheless,, the band sold all of the initial albums printed without a dime of advertising money. Sound Barrier persevered and released an Independent EP Titled "Born to Rock" on Pitt Bull records. This independent release led to opening slots for Yngvie Malmsteem, Loudness, and more. After a band shakeup, they went on to record their third effort, ("Speed of Light") on Metal Blade records. Still no tour or advertising dollars were allotted for this undeniably talented band. Fast forward to 2017 with the release of the single "I'm just a man" on Tom Morello's Firebrand label, the band is back with three of the original members and new drummer Eric Valentine, after the death of original drummer Dave Brown in 2013. The Barrier continues with new music on the horizon!!!
