Shah-Rae Weaver is the Adelaide born, alt-pop angel behind Shahrae. Alongside busking from the age of 15, she was inspired by finding some of her favourite songwriters and performers on Youtube, to which she launched her own channel in 2016, posting acoustic covers of some of her favourite artists. Over the last 4 years she has amassed almost 700,000 views and gained over 17,000 subscribers. Shah-Rae launched the Shahrae project with her debut single ‘Awkward, a tale of the introverted. Being coined as ‘one of 2019’s most exciting newcomers’, she followed up her debut single with dreamlike ‘Forget To Forget Me’ and heavy hitting ‘Outsider’ shortly after. Shahrae went on to release ‘Like The Others Do’ alongside ‘Holding On’ as the last two tracks from her EP Awkward released August 16th of 2019 which has since amassed over 400,000 streams and landed itself on numerous Spotify editorial playlists.

After the release of her debut EP, Shahrae took out the title of Asia-Pacific winner of the Vans Musicians Wanted competition, and had her biggest single ‘Like The Others Do’ turned into an MTV produced music video filmed in Malaysia. Following on from the success of her last single ‘Shadow, its accompanying live shows, including Laneway Music Festival, Adelaide native, now Melbourne resident Shahrae, is back with the brand new single ‘Control’, out now.
