Биография

PLAZA is an R&B singer/songwriter based out of Toronto. Emerging from the local rock scene as the frontman for various acts, PLAZA began his solo career in 2016. Mixing downtempo, ambient soundscapes with floating melodies, his first EP ‘ONE’ quickly accumulated millions of streams and gained the attention of Toronto’s own Drake/Noah '40' Shebib and their OVO Sound label. After signing with Warner/OVO in 2017, PLAZA released his acclaimed second EP ‘Shadow’, followed by a string of singles including standout track ‘All Mine’. PLAZA’s catalogue has amassed over 160 million streams globally. Notably, his song ‘Wanting You’ was sampled in Trippie Redd’s ‘1400 / 999 Freestyle’ which featured Jucie WRLD and has been streamed over half a billion times. With a more clear vision of how he wanted to contribute and operate within today’s music industry, PLAZA restructured his management team and set about becoming independent. After forming Shadow Records Inc. in the spring of 2021, PLAZA released his debut album Nocturnes signifying his return on his own terms. PLAZA’s executive producer Evan Miles was nominated for a Juno for ‘Recording Engineer of the Year” for his contribution to the hit single ‘Use Me’. Recently, PLAZA reached 100,000 YouTube subscribers putting him in the top 0.6% of all YouTube creators. Looking ahead to 2023, PLAZA has begun releasing singles from his sophomore album and is preparing for his first live show.
