Gloria Amelia and her songs are not so easy to pigeon-hole. There are different lives that want to be lived, there is pop, folk and country, and, above all, there is a whole lot of soul. There is a melancholy in her warm voice that envelops every note in mystery. Gloria Amelia maintains this mystery when writing her songs as well: "I like lyrics that are not too explicit, that leave room for people's own thoughts and interpretations." The Winterthur native draws inspiration for her songwriting from nature and from encounters with people. "I like to observe, but I do also use my own experiences in my songs."
